Aeronautics has been contracted to build this Hawker Sea Fury FB.11, complete
with state-of-the-art avionics and a Wright R-3350-26WD.
This Hawker Sea Fury is being resurrected from the
ground up and being restored to the highest of
standards, with some components of the airplane having
never flown.
No expense is being spared to restore this Hawker Sea
Fury to one of the finest flying in the world.
The wiring was completed by Chuck Cabe, exhaust built
by Sam Davis and the first engine run was performed at
Sanders Aeronautics by Dennis Sanders on March 17, 2009.
Dennis Sanders completed the taxi test and took the
Sea Fury up for a successful first post restoration
flight on June 2, 2009. The Sea Fury was shipped via
boat to France, painted in this beautiful Australian scheme
and assembled (with Sanders Smoke Generators under the
wing tips) for its first flight at its new home in
France.
