Sanders Aeronautics

Dennis Sanders lives in Ione, California and has two daughters; Shannon and Elise.

 

Dennis has been a pilot for 35 years and has accumulated over 4,000 hours in over 50 different types of aircraft. Dennis also flys airshows in the Hawker Sea Fury and previously in the Red Knight, a Lockheed T-33.

 

Dennis first flew the Sea Fury in 1978. In 1983 he flew in his first Reno Unlimited Air Race and has participated in the Reno Air Races every year since.

 

The family business, Sanders Aircraft, specializes in Airborne Self-Contained Smoke Generator Systems and is an industry leader in all aspects of Aircraft Restoration and Maintenance. Founded by Dennis’s father, the late Frank Sanders in 1970 in Long Beach, the company moved to Chino, California in 1976 and then to their current place of business at Eagles Nest in Ione, California in 1996.

 

The Sanders family are also very well known throughout the warbird industry as the "Sea Fury Kings" and have been an air racing dynasty at the National Championship Air Races in Reno, Nevada, where they have successfully raced their Sea Furies "Dreadnought" and "Argonaut".

 

Dennis holds a commercial pilots license, with instrument and multi-engine ratings and is proficient in 18 different fighter aircraft. He is also an avid motorcycle enthusiast and has been building and riding custom Harley Davidson motorcycles for many years.
